A new browser was launched recently. Called Brave, it is the brainchild of Brendan Eich, who was the co-founder of the Mozilla Foundation, whose most well-known product is the Firefox browser.
Brave takes a new approach to ads. It allows ads to be removed – particularly those like to cause malware download. If necessary, these ads can be replaced.
This approach is claimed to make the user safer, and also to load the pages faster.
Well – I am giving the product a whirl. I am typing this blog post into the backend of the Old Castle Web Services site, in the Brave browser. I will try to remember to report again on what I think of the browser.
Personally, I am a big fan of Firefox. It might take a very good product to get me away from Firefox – but a product made by a similar team might just do the trick.
